Valorme offers a full French immersion program in Foix. Foix is a characterful medieval town in the Midi Pyrenees region of southern France.
Total immersion - intensive French courses. A new class begins each Monday. The course puts emphasis on oral communication (speaking and listening, pronunciation). However, it also gives you a chance to learn or review specific grammar points and vocabulary. It allows each student to improve his/her weak points and to speak with more confidence.
Outings allow you to practise French with locals whilst discovering the area, rich in natural and cultural treasures: medieval towns and cathar castles, wonderful landscapes of the Pyrenees, prehistoric caves, traditional crafts…
Lunches provide informal conversation practice with your tutor, in nearby restaurants.
From Foix, you can easily reach many interesting places:
- Toulouse - one hour
- Carcassonne, the biggest medieval city in Europe
- The Pyrenees (hiking, skiing,…)
- World renowned well-conserved prehistoric caves
- Cathar castles, Romanesque churches and “bastides” (medieval towns)
- Andorra for its landscapes and for shopping
- The Mediterranean coast for beaches.
Accommodation: Valorme is located in a small, quiet street of the medieval town. In the same building, you will find the classroom, four comfortably furnished flats for the students, a living room and a courtyard to relax in. Your tutor, Corine and her husband have their apartment here too.
