ScholarshipPoints.com awards $1,000 scholarship and Flip™ UltraHD video camera to Florida State University student
ScholarshipPoints.com awards scholarships to three students total $2,000 and 5 Flip™ UltraHD video cameras to winners of their annual “Scholarship Idol” video contest
QUINCY, MA (March 24, 2011) – The popular student scholarship reward website ScholarshipPoints.com (http://www.scholarshippoints.com/) recently announced the winners of their Scholarship Idol viral video contest. In 60 seconds or less, students were given the chance to express themselves creatively and originally in a video and upload it to the ScholarshipPoints YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/ScholarshipPoints). The number of “Likes” a video received determined it’s chances of landing in the top ten videos to be judged by members at ScholarshipPoints.com during the final round.
Of the more than 50,000 votes cast, the majority went to Erika Vasallo, a vocal performance major at Florida State University. Erika walked away with a $1,000 scholarship and a Flip™ UltraHD video camera. “With the rising costs of college tuition, room and board, and books, the $1,000 scholarship that I won from ScholarshipPoints.com will help me get a head start on my education, said Vasallo. “Thank you ScholarshipPoints for your generous scholarship!”
Jonathan Thomas, a business student with a passion for film, was one of the runners-up in the competition. He was also the recipient of a video camera. “I love film. In fact, I had applied to film school in California, but could not afford to attend after acceptance,” said Thomas. “This is my first camera! Thanks ScholarshipPoints for helping me get one step closer to reaching my dreams.”
